Grandma Dixon

29 Oct

We are happy to have Grandma Dixon here with us visiting from Virginia this week! The girls have absolutely loved spending time with their Grandma. Addison has been so excited & Kamryn immediately gave her a kiss the day she got here. So sweet! This afternoon, we went to downtown Mineola to walk around & go in the cute little shops…but mainly went to get some fudge!

Here are a few pics….

addi had a tea party with some of her stuffed friends this morning at the coffee shop…

big game this weekend!

28 Oct

Both teams are 8-0 this season. Should be a great game! Its in Lubbock, which is great news for Tech. My siblings are die-hard UT fans and I, of course, am a Tech fan. My sister graduated from UT and I am a Tech alumni. We are very competitive, when it comes to this one particular game. I am already nervous! We have to win. Needless to say, in order to maintain good relationships, we will NOT be watching the game together on Saturday night. Ryan & I will just watch it alone, rooting for our team! 🙂

GO RAIDERS!!!

Trick or Treat

27 Oct

This weekend, I took the girls to the carnival at the elementary school. Ryan worked at a retreat at Allaso this weekend, so we went with my cousin Christi & her family. That place was packed! Apparently its a big deal around here. Addi loved seeing all of the costumes and Kamryn enjoyed being strolled around. It was fun dressing them up…they both looked adorable!

happy birthday jeff!

24 Oct

yesterday, my little brother jeff turned 18. we went to my parents for his bday dinner last night. my mom always cooks us whatever we want for our bday dinners. for ryan’s dinner, he chose chicken fried steak, homeade french fries, green beans, and apple crisp for dessert. jeff’s request? chocolate gravy & biscuits!!! chocolate gravy you ask? um, yes…its delicious! its an old family recipe that comes down from my mom’s side of the family from my great-grandmother & we have had it as long as i can remember. christmas morning…chocolate gravy. any family get-together…what do we have for breakfast? chocolate gravy. it may sound weird to you…but, seriously its amazing. just ask ryan…the first time he had it when we first got together, he was very skeptical. but he loves it! don’t knock it until you try it. amy, jeff’s girlfriend, had it for the first time last night. its funny to watch people try it for the first time b/c its so unheard of & a strange concept. for me, its always been there – so i’ve never thought about it as weird, i just have always enjoyed it! oh, and after we stuffed out faces, ryan & i went out and ran 3 1/2 miles which totally cancelled out all of the calories.  hehe. 🙂

happy bday jeff! hope you had a great day.  love ya little bro.

um, you gotta little something on your face…

we love watching them play together! they have started exhibiting a little feistiness towards each other…fighting over toys already. kam always wants whatever addi has. its too fun to watch them interact. for the most part, addi is such a sweet big sister…she shares and is very caring. and if kam starts to get into something she shouldn’t, addi will say, “momma, what’s kamryn doing?” she watches out for her! it will be neat to watch how their relationship grows over time!

grapes for bows?

22 Oct

addi asked for grapes the other day as her afternoon snack. she has the fascination with fruit. not necessarily to eat the fruit, but to play with it. i always cut the grapes in half so she doesn’t choke. well, i thought she was eating them, because they were disappearing off her plate. she got down out of the chair and was walking away when i saw this disturbing image…

she said, “momma do you like my bows?” it really grossed me out actually!!!

20 Oct

thursday mornings, pretty much since we’ve been open, have always been “moms day” at our shop. us “moms” come together to chat while our babies play. thursdays work out well because its also mother’s day out here in town…for those of us with older kids, our hands aren’t quite as full! i always enjoy these days & spending time w/these girls & their adorable babies!
