We got up Saturday morning and decided to surprise the girls by taking them to the zoo. We didn’t tell them where we were going. They had no clue, until we gave the nice lady at the gate our tickets and she said, “Welcome to the zoo!” They had such a great time! We went last year, but this year, they really got into it. They are old enough now to actually have a lot of fun there.
They thought it was hilarious when the parrot said “Hello!” as we walked by…giggles galore. They loved looking at the penguins, fish, elephants, and giraffes. Kamryn sang “nap time, nap time, close your eyes, go to sleep” (Yo Gabba Yo Gabba) to the leopard that was falling sleep.
What they did not love was the “bird walk-about.” Its a big caged patio with a ton of parakeets…you can buy a stick to hold with bird feed on it, so the birds will land on it & eat. The birds apparently loved Mommy and there were like 3 or 4 of them perched on my arm at one point…and to tell you the truth, I didn’t really like it either! Sharp little claws…and it kind of grossed me out. Notice the tears in the pics…
Besides the birds, we had a blast! All of the smiles & giggles made the trip awesome for Mommy & Daddy as well…well worth it! Fun way to spend the morning for sure.
Such precious little girls!
